“Since its humble beginnings in 1976, Sybil’s has evolved into something of an institution in New York’s West Indian enclaves. It is a place to savor coconut drops, pineapple tarts and crusty currant rolls…Most everyone knows Sybil’s and most everyone knows of Sybil Bernard-Kerrutt, the 58-year old founder.”  (New York Times, Sunday, January 23, 1994)

The founder has since passed on but through her children the great Sybil’s tradition of Guyanese and Caribbean cooking lives on. One of her sons, Ken Bernard  now manages the Hillside store which is the original location. Sybil’s presently offers a wide variety of Guyanese and Caribbean bakery delights, sumptuous meals, spicy snacks and hot and cold beverages. We also cater for a variety of functions includding office parties and weddings. Our prompt and professional staff is always ready to serve.
